Illustrations from F is for Frida
For my culminating experience (think of it as a capstone project) for my Master of Liberal Studies program, I wrote and illustrated a children's alphabet book of women artists titled F is for Frida: An Illustrated Guide of Women Artists from A to Z.
With this project, I focused on researching and presenting a diverse range of women artists, from the Baroque period to the modern day, to tell the story of art history -- one letter at a time. Ultimately, my aim was to create something that could not only teach young readers the alphabet and about women artists but also introduce them to the possibilities of art, help them better understand their world, and inspire their creativity.
Below are the illustrations and designs I created for the project. They were created using the Procreate app on my Apple iPad with brushes and textures from True Grit Texture Supply and default brushes from Procreate. The text was added in Bookwright, a bookmaking software by Blurb.
